The Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah, are a Yemeni Shia rebel group rooted in the Zaidi sect of Islam. They originated in the 1990s as a religious revisionist movement in northern Yemen, advocating for greater political influence and opposing the Yemeni government’s alignment with Saudi Arabia and the U.S. The group became prominent after leading an insurgency starting in 2004 and, in 2015, taking control of Yemen’s capital.

With the given context, these factions have a long history with the occupation of Israel & it’s militant operations. These operations have kicked up in recent months with alleged participation in attacks on the behalf of the Israeli government. These attacks include alleged Presidential assassinations, Political assassinations, mass remote explosions. Israel has even begun ground attacks into Lebanon following the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah, the late leader of Hezbollah, who was killed last week in a barage a artillery fire in Beirut. Iranian involvement in this conflict has yet again escalated with the attempted ground invasion, Iran Launched roughly 200-300 missiles aimed at Tel-Aviv & military installations.

As of October 2, 2024, the conflict between Iran, its regional allies (Hezbollah, Houthi, Hamas), and Israel remains extremely volatile & unstable. Israel, who has been backed by the US government for the past year of conflict, continues to ramp up tensions with neighboring nations in attempts to provoke escalation. With the US currently funding a soft genocide In the Middle East, yet AGAIN, are we looking at another attempt at joining a global conflict?
