Kanye West kicked off the year with one of the best releases this year with the long awaited Vultures 1, along with Ty Dolla $ign.
The first Vultures album was released on February 10th of 2024, & it was followed up on August 3rd of 2024 with another collaboration release with Ty, titled Vultutres 2.
With hit songs like “Carnival” featuring Rich the Kid & Playboi Carti topping charts at release, Kanye & Ty have been having an extremely successful year as an independent hip hop artist.
With the controversial comments that Ye has previously made regarding Jewish people, it’s been said that he was having troubles booking venues and even streaming streaming severs to host his music with west even stating “the only arena he's been able to book for his tour is the United Center in his hometown of Chicago”. Ye also mentioned on his instagram that “It’s the only arena that I had access to in the past year. And when I call, people say there’s no avails for me, and you know why that is. So if there’s anybody out there that can help with this, please.” meaning his controversial comments may have blackballed him from performing at many venues regardless of his ability to sell 50,000 seats in seconds.
Through these obstacles, Kanye, one of the biggest international artist, was still able to get an International tour put together.
But in Kanye fashion these aren’t just regular performances, these are interactive Listening Parties. These listening parties begun before the release of Vultures 1, with very intimate small scale parties showcasing music for industry friends & family alike.
Soon after picking up some steam they were able to start off the first leg of the tour with a couple national dates via: Nashville, Tampa, D.C, Charlotte & Pittsburgh for the ‘Vultures 1 Listening Experience’ arena concerts’.
The “Vultures Listening Experience World Tour Listening Party“ is a World Tour interation of the orginal ‘Vultures 1 experience’ & it also features some of Ye’s greatest songs made to date. For Last Nights performance Ye took stage in mainland China for the first time in over 16 years. Ye hasn’t preformed in China since November 3rd, 2008 where he appeared in Shanghai.
This long awaited performance garnered a huge amount of attention days & weeks leading up to the performance. Fans of Ye took to social media to display their support him showcasing Custom van transport viynls depicting Vultures, custom super car decals, Ye inspired hydration packs & even a Life sized animatronics Vulture Drone that could be seen by on goers flying
above the performance.
With Kanye formerly living in China with his mother at age 10 he is no stranger to our Neighbors over East, Ye along with his mother Donda lived in China for a year via an education exchange program.
With this single show, Kanye reportedly raked in 400 million yuan through ticket sales and travel/tourism, it’s not wonder they reportedly attempted to have him perform a second time. This show sold out nearly 40,000 seats within 10 seconds of the announcement. Ye’s long awaited return to China was really just a homecoming for him & his fans alike.
