On February 15th Vince staples teamed up with Netflix to release his own sitcom.

The Vince Staples show starring & produced by Staples is 5 episode short series.

The show depicts life in Long Beach as Staples navigates through daily obstacles as a "Kind of famous and sort of rich, rapper-actor".

A dark comedy is my best interpretation of the show. The execution of the show played out flawlessly in the most chaotic way possible.

An extremely unpredictable series, each episode takes you on a new journey through the eyes of Staples.

Staples who also appeared on "Abbot Elementary" as a far less sucessful aquintence, took on lead acting responsibilities to get the job done. Recently Staples expressed in a interview with Sway that he has worked extensively, taking improv & acting classes to better hone in his talents.

The scenes of each episode set a riveting tone as they typically start off "regular" & seemingly take dark left turns. A "comedy without any jokes told" is how Staples described the performance, & looking back on it that's exactly how it was excecuted. For those that can relate to the experience & nuances, this show can be extremely hilarious. For those that don't understand, it can take on a more raunchy confusingly funny feel.

I personally loved the show from start to finish, but I also see Vince as one of the more premier Hip hop acts. This was a long awaited series of my mine, I only hated the 5 episode duration.

From a jail stint, to a bank robbery this show has a ton of life in just 5 short episodes. Staples troubled gang banging past & environment is a reoccurring theme throughout the series, it boils down to be one of the best Rapper or producer created shows on the platform.
